After spending a great week at Columbus Marina we pulled out this morning. Fueled up and eased through the fog to wait for Stennis Lock to open for us. By the time they opened it up for us the fog had completely lifted and it was smooth sailing the rest of the day. Early evening we pulled into Pirates Marina Cove to dock for the night. We checked in with the marina office and visited for a few minutes with them and then headed back to the boat to eat dinner. We had a short day planned for the 18th but we wanted to get on our way early and spend a peaceful evening at our anchorage, Sumpter Landing. And that, we did. I had cooked pinto’s in the crock pot as we were traveling and I don’t think we ever had any that tasted any better. Grilled chicken, pinto beans and corn bread fritters was what we had for dinner that evening. We both love to anchor out in these quite little coves. And yes, the two of us are still all smiles. We are in the process of making our dreams come true. As Mrs. Edrie George-Royals says, “One Buoy at a Time”.
